OSHOW Boutique Event Returns to Melbourne in 2018

OSHOWFollowing on from the success of the 2016 event, OSHOW2018 the boutique event for the optical industry will run from 14-15 July 2018.

To be held in Melbourne, considered the fashion capital of Australia, O-Show provides a great opportunity to have the latest industry trends in technology and frame fashion showcased in the Southern part of Australia. O-Show is owned by the Australian optical industry. It has been developed for the industry, by the industry.

Taking place at Peninsula at Docklands, the latest offerings for the industry will be presented in a funky environment providing a relaxed opportunity to network and enjoy the unique ambience. OSHOW2018 is well timed for the latest frame and sunglass releases to be presented from MIDO and the US.

For interstate and regional visitors wishing to take advantage of a weekend away, 14 -15 July is the perfect weekend to take advantage of Melbourne’s sporting and culture events. With the AFL football season in full swing, Sydneysiders even have the opportunity to watch the Swans on Sunday afternoon at Etihad after a few hours browsing the show. Regarded as the cultural centre of Australia, there are also some terrific theatre productions happening in Melbourne at the same time.

“O-Show is a non CPD event with the emphasis on hands on demonstrations, and the opportunity to compare and contrast new products and equipment,” said Robert Sparkes, Chairman of ODMA. Finola Carey, CEO of ODMA welcomes the opportunity to deliver this successful event – ODMA’s first, to be organised in-house. With a background steeped in optical industry events including ODMAFAIR, she is looking forward to developing this new business event to the next level with trend leading features and experiences.

In conjunction with O-Show, ODMA is to support new scholarships for the industry as well as providing funding support for Optometry Giving Sight.
