Alcon Introduces New Multifocal Contact Lenses
Alcon, a division of Novartis, is expanding its multifocal portfolio with the launch of AIR OPTIX® plus HydraGlyde® Multifocal contact lenses. As with Alcon’s other multifocal portfolio contact lens options – including DAILIES TOTAL1® , DAILIES® AquaComfort Plus® and AIR OPTIX® AQUA – this latest innovation offers presbyopic patients a unique combination of technologies for seamless vision at all distances, plus enhanced moisture benefits, compared to AIR OPTIX® AQUA.
“Our new AIR OPTIX® plus HydraGlyde® Multifocal contact lens expands Alcon’s differentiated contact lens portfolio – offering additional options for patients and providing opportunities for Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) to foster practice growth,” said Eric Bruno, General Manager of Alcon US Vision Care. “We believe ECPs should be equipped with advanced solutions to accommodate patients’ specific vision needs that fit their individual lifestyles.”
Alcon’s multifocal contact lens portfolio equips ECPs with options to meet the diverse and specific needs of presbyopes with a single, easy fitting process. According to the company, the unique design of all Alcon multifocal contact lenses follows the same two-step initial fitting process that leads to a 96 percent rate of fit success with two lenses or less. To help increase efficiency and improve first-time fit success of its multifocal contact lenses, Alcon has more than doubled its hands-on multifocal contact lens fit trainings at the Alcon Experience Center, while also increasing offerings of its proprietary Multifocal Fit Training Road Shows, which brings the training right to the practitioner’s office.
