WCO To Host Second Global Myopia Management Virtual Event
The World Council of Optometry (WCO) and CooperVision will host a virtual event on February 16, 2023 titled "Myopia Management: Advancing the Global Standard of Care."
This complimentary online event will feature industry experts discussing the global standard of care for myopia management and how they have incorporated it into their work.
In April 2021, the WCO established a resolution for the evidence-based standard of care for myopia management, which includes the pillars of mitigation, measurement, and management. WCO President-elect Dr. Sandra Block encourages optometrists and other eye care professionals worldwide to attend this event to gain a broader understanding of incorporating myopia management as standard of care in their practices. Myopia has reached epidemic levels globally and early mitigation, measurement, and management in young patients can help reduce the risk of serious eye health issues in adulthood.
The February 16 event will also feature real stories of patients and leading eye care professionals discussing the myopia epidemic.
