Oscar Wylee New Zealand to Provide Free Eye Tests for Kids
Eyewear company Oscar Wylee New Zealand, will provide free eye tests for kids under 18. Under the new fuss-free service, aimed towards New Zealand school-aged kids 5 to 17, the company will cover standard eye testing costs for children.
There will be no need for customers under the age of 18 to have a government concession card, or meet any clinical requirements in Oscar Wylee stores, nor are there any obligations for customers to purchase any products.
With stores across the North and South Islands, including Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, this new service has been developed to encourage kids and parents in the community to take care of their eye health.
“We believe that all children, especially school aged children, should have access to free eye tests,” says company Chief Executive Officer Craig Levy. “Vision is an important part of a child’s learning journey. If a child has trouble seeing, this can impact their ability to succeed, especially at school. That’s why we are excited to bring this service to New Zealand kids.”
With over 100 dedicated optometrists across their New Zealand, Australian and Canadian stores, and an investment in leading optometry equipment, Oscar Wylee is eager to provide the community with quality eye care services. By making eye testing for New Zealand kids free and simple, Oscar Wylee hopes to provide inclusive eye care to all kids in the community, regardless of background or financial status.
New Kids Range
To complement the free kids eye testing service in New Zealand, Oscar Wylee is expanding their range of children’s glasses, with the release of the Kids Collection mid December. This collection will build upon the company’s existing kids and petite ranges, by introducing exciting new designs. The new frames are all created to be as kid proof as possible, with hard to break hinges and impact resistant lenses.
The Kids Collection will also come with new accessories, including ear grips that stop the glasses from falling off the face. With this new range and the free eye testing for New Zealand kids, Oscar Wylee seeks to encourage parents and their children to prioritise their eye health.
