BMW Motorrad Introduces ConnectedRide Smartglasses
BMW Motorrad has announced the release of their innovative ConnectedRide Smartglasses, which bring head-up display technology to the world of motorcycling. The smartglasses project real-time data such as navigation, speed, and gear directly into the rider's field of vision, allowing for safer and more anticipatory riding.
The ConnectedRide Smartglasses can be easily connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth and app, with the projection and settings adjustable both before and during the ride using the multicontroller on the motorcycle handlebars. The smartglasses have been designed with motorcyclists in mind, with a comfortable fit that can be adapted to fit numerous helmets and face shapes. The lithium-ion battery enables up to ten hours of operation.
In addition to increased safety and comfort, the ConnectedRide Smartglasses also come with two sets of certified UVA/UVB lenses, one transparent and one tinted. An RX adapter (+/- 4.5 diopters) is also available for those who wear glasses.
The BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Smartglasses have been unveiled on July 7th, 2023 at the BMW Motorrad Days in Berlin. The recommended retail price is €690.00 (AUD1150).
