ODMA Announces Return of OSHOW24 to Sydney in 2024

oshow2024In a move that is set to ignite excitement within the optical industry, the Optical Distributors and Manufacturers Association (ODMA) has officially confirmed the return of OSHOW24 to the vibrant city of Sydney in 2024. Following the resounding success and collaborative spirit of OSHOW22, this eagerly anticipated event is poised to once again unite optical professionals, showcasing the latest innovations, products, and services at the iconic Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park.

ODMA's CEO, Amanda Trotman, expressed her enthusiasm for the venue, stating, "The Hordern Pavilion Sydney works so well for this event – it provides an intimate boutique feel, and the venue rental price ensures financial viability for both the Association and our valued exhibitors. The convenient public transport links and affordable parking options are highly appreciated by trade fair visitors, and there's an abundance of attractions within the Moore Park precinct."

Building on the tremendous success of OSHOW22, the 2024 event promises to maintain some key elements, such as a level playing field for exhibitors with a maximum booth limit and a minimal number of custom-built booths. Moreover, exciting new additions are on the horizon, with Amanda Trotman encouraging attendees to stay tuned for upcoming marketing and communication announcements. She assured, "There will be some exciting new aspects to OSHOW in 2024, as we aim to showcase the latest products released since O=MEGA23, taking into account events like SILMO Paris and MIDO Italy that will have transpired prior to our event."

Expect an enhanced focus on networking opportunities in a relaxed and trendy environment, an emphasis on style and fashion, the introduction of a dedicated Frames Central area, tailored offerings for Practice Managers and Dispensers, and vendor-sponsored information sessions, among other innovative initiatives. According to Amanda Trotman, "Every member of the optometry practice team will find something of interest and will be able to actively participate in this event. Valuable connections will be forged, and exceptional products and services will be showcased, ranging from lenses and equipment to optical frames, sunglasses, children's eyewear, and sports eyewear."

Recognizing the busy schedules of practitioners, OSHOW24 will extend its hours to accommodate those unable to attend during regular practice hours.

During OSHOW22, 130 booths were featured, attracting nearly 1,000 unique buyers. Given that the event occurred shortly after pandemic restrictions were lifted, the 2024 edition is anticipated to be even more expansive.

ODMA has strategically scheduled OSHOW24 towards the end of one financial year and the beginning of the next, dovetailing with the planned ONSW/ACT Super Sunday event scheduled for May 19th, 2024, in Sydney. Amanda Trotman commented, "This arrangement allows individuals, particularly those traveling from outside of Sydney or New South Wales, to enjoy a weekend in the city and easily attend both events, recognizing the value of everyone's time. O-Show is an event owned by the Australian optical industry, created by the industry, for the industry, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming the industry to our next major gathering."
