Vision Australia has announced the launch of its new online learning portal, the Life Ready Hub, designed for children and young people (aged 18 and under) who are blind or have low vision, as well as their families. The Life Ready Hub complements Vision Australia's Life Ready program, which focuses on developing essential life skills for children and young people at different stages of their lives.
The Life Ready Hub offers a range of engaging resources, including videos, games, and activity sheets, to help build life skills in a fun and interactive way. These resources aim to support the learning that families are undertaking with their service providers and enable them to access the materials at a time that suits them.
The Life Ready Hub includes various features such as podcasts, activity sheets, info sheets, quizzes, and mini courses. The coursework can be allocated by either Vision Australia's expert service providers or families can explore and discover resources on their own.
The Life Ready Hub is available to all current Vision Australia clients under the age of 18 and their families working with Vision Australia. For more information or to enroll, families are encouraged to talk to their individual Vision Australia service provider.
Vision Australia's Children and Young People Clinical Development Lead, Lara Anderson, expressed her excitement about the new portal, stating, "The Hub provides outstanding learning resources to build a child’s life-skills in a fun and interactive way. It also enables families to do it at a time that suits them. We all know how busy life gets".
