Countdown to MIDO 2025 with Business Innovation and Sustainability Leading the Way

MIDO 2025The global eyewear industry is gearing up for the highly anticipated MIDO 2025, set to take place at Fiera Milano Rho from February 8th to 10th. With over 1,200 exhibitors representing 50+ countries and an expanded exhibition space, MIDO remains the definitive platform for innovation, networking, and growth within the optical sector.

Expanded Space and New Features

This year’s edition marks a significant milestone with approximately 1,000 additional square meters across seven pavilions. Notable expansions include Pavilion 6, home to the Academy, Start-Up, and MIDO Tech areas, along with a green-inspired installation echoing the charm of Italian villages. Pavilions 2 and 4, known for their avant-garde designs, now offer enhanced spaces for showcasing cutting-edge technologies. Pavilion 1, dedicated to fashion and luxury, will host the prestigious MIDO Awards on February 8th.

The Vision Stage: A Hub for Insights and Innovation

A centrepiece of MIDO 2025 is the reimagined Vision Stage in Pavilion 1, offering a robust lineup of panels, workshops, and discussions. The program explores pivotal topics such as sustainability, technological advancements, and global consumer trends. Industry leaders and experts, including renowned journalist Alessandra Albarello and colour designer Francesca Valan, will present insights into 2025 trends and colour innovation.

Highlights include:

  • February 8th:

    • Breaking Optical Barriers: A celebration of women leaders in the optical industry, organized by the Optical Women’s Association.
    • The Lens of Time: ANFAO’s showcase connecting tradition and innovation in an exclusive exhibit in Venice.
  • February 9th:

    • Future Consumer 2026: WGSN analyses emerging consumer profiles shaping the future market.
    • Sport and Vision: Insights into visual health in sports, featuring soccer legend Alessandro "Billy" Costacurta.
  • February 10th:

    • Sustainability in Eyewear: A deep dive into ESG criteria led by sustainability expert Anna Zandanel.
    • STEPIC Innovations 2026: Projections on how global trends will redefine industries.

Industry-Wide Collaboration

MIDO continues to strengthen ties across the optical and medical industries, fostering collaboration through events like Shared Visions, a panel dedicated to integrating optical and medical advancements. Additionally, market research insights from Optical Monitor, developed by GFK, will offer attendees invaluable data on consumer trends in key global markets.

MIDO 2025 will be open from 9 AM to 7 PM on February 8th and 9th until 6 PM on February 10th.
