Dry Eye Society Announces Exclusive CPD Evening: Immunology, IPL & Insane Grand Rounds
The Dry Eye Society is pleased to invite engaged members to an exclusive professional education event, Immunology, IPL & Insane Grand Rounds, taking place on Tuesday 24 February at Victoria Park Golf Course.
Guests are invited to arrive from 6:00pm, with the evening program commencing promptly at 6:30pm.
This members-only CPD evening will bring together clinicians with a shared interest in dry eye disease to explore immunology, IPL, and advanced clinical case discussions in an interactive and collegial environment. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with peers and leaders in the field while gaining practical insights that can be directly applied to clinical practice.
The evening will offer 3 hours of CPD, including 2 hours of therapeutic and interactive content, supporting ongoing professional development in dry eye and ocular surface disease.
Expert Speakers
The event will feature presentations and panel discussion led by respected optometrists Adam Barron and Lyndon Ferguson, both recognised for their clinical expertise and commitment to advancing dry eye care.
Adam Barron, graduated from the QUT School of Optometry in 2005 and is passionate about delivering the highest standard of eye care to regional communities. Adam’s clinical interests include orthokeratology and myopia control, freeform scleral lens fitting, dry eye disease, and ocular pathology.
Adam completed the International Academy Certification in Myopia Management (IACMM) in 2025 and has been an active member of the Dry Eye Society since its establishment. He is also a member of the Orthokeratology Society of Oceania, the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia, the QCH Paediatric Optometry Alignment Program, and serves as an Aviation Eye Examiner.
Lyndon Ferguson, currently practises full-scope optometry on the Gold Coast with a strong focus on dry eye and ocular surface disease. He has broad clinical experience across both private practice and hospital eye casualty settings in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Lyndon completed his undergraduate optometry studies at QUT in Brisbane and holds a Master of Science (Clinical Optometry) from City University, London, where he conducted research into the management of dry eye and ocular surface disease. He has completed a Diploma of Therapeutics (IP) and holds additional postgraduate qualifications in specialty contact lenses, dry eye disease, glaucoma, and medical retina. Lyndon is a strong advocate for improving understanding of dry eye disease among both eye care professionals and the broader community and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Dry Eye Society’s mission.
Registration Details
Attendance is exclusively available to Dry Eye Society members. Practitioners who are not yet members may join the Dry Eye Society on the evening to gain access to the event, subject to availability.
