ZEISS Launches Second Myopia Management Training Module for Eye Care Professionals

ZEISS Launches Second Myopia Management Training Module for Eye Care ProfessionalsThe company has expanded its free online education program with an advanced case-based module, as the global myopia epidemic continues to place mounting pressure on practitioners.

ZEISS has rolled out the second instalment of its Education Program for Myopia Management, giving optometrists, ophthalmologists and other eye care professionals access to a new online module focused on advanced clinical techniques and real-world case studies.

The new module, titled "Advanced Techniques & Cases," builds on the program's foundational first course, "Essentials of Myopia Management," and is now live through the ZEISS Myopia Insights Hub at www.zeiss.com/vision-myopia. Both modules are available free of charge.

Designed with a case-based learning structure, the advanced module covers diagnostic approaches, intervention strategies and contemporary management techniques, with input from leading specialists in the field. Interactive content is included to help practitioners translate concepts directly into their day-to-day clinical workflows.

Vesta Slabbert, who oversees myopia training at ZEISS Vision Care, said the expansion reflects the industry's need for ongoing professional development as myopia rates among children continue to climb globally.

"Addressing myopia is a collective effort and requires continuous education to ensure practitioners stay up to date with the latest innovations and provide customers with the best service, recommendations and solutions," Slabbert said.

The program is entirely self-paced and delivered online, with multiple language versions to be made available progressively, a practical consideration for a profession operating across diverse communities.

ZEISS has positioned the education program within its broader Myopia Management Collective, an ecosystem of products, solutions and services aimed at supporting practitioners across every stage of the myopia management journey. The company says the initiative is designed not only to strengthen clinical outcomes for young patients, but to help practices attract new patients and build long-term loyalty.

With the Brien Holden Vision Institute having long projected that half the world's population could be myopic by 2050 and with Australian prevalence figures tracking upward continuing professional education in this space is increasingly relevant for local practitioners looking to differentiate their offering and stay ahead of the evidence base.

Eye care professionals can enrol in both modules via the ZEISS Myopia Insights Hub.
