AM Eyewear Expands Summer Collection with Double-Bridge Duo Ashan and Sampson

The Australian independent eyewear label unveils two new half-rim styles bringing its world-first tangle-free nose pad technology to a broader range of frames.

AM Eyewear has announced the introduction of two new styles, Ashan and Sampson, expanding the brand's optical and sunglass offering.

Both styles adopt a double-bridge, half-rim construction, a silhouette that continues to gain traction in the independent eyewear market for its blend of retro reference and contemporary refinement. Each frame is offered in three colourways alongside a sleek black metal option, giving practices and stockists four SKUs per style to work with across a range of patient demographics.

Tangle-Free Nose Pads Roll Out Further

Perhaps the most technically notable aspect of the new release is the broader rollout of AM Eyewear's in-house designed, world-first tangle-free nose pads. First introduced earlier this season on the brand's rimless styles, where they were met with strong reception, the ergonomically engineered pads are now incorporated across Ashan and Sampson.

Designed specifically to prevent the common frustration of nose pads catching on hair, the pads aim to deliver all-day wearing comfort and a secure fit. For practices with active or long-hair-wearing patients who frequently cite irritation with traditional pad designs, this feature may be worth highlighting at the dispensing table.

Materials and Construction

The frames are constructed from Italian bio-based acetate, selected for its resistance to warping and bending, a practical consideration for the Australian summer climate. Hardware details include 18KT gold-plated fittings, gold-foiled accents, and a custom core wire, with seven-barrel Comotech hinges and rubber-coated screws rounding out the mechanical specification.

Lens performance has also been addressed: Nylon polyamide lenses carry a Gold ET anti-reflective back coating, intended to improve optical clarity, reduce glare, and extend lens durability under high UV conditions.
